Cliff Wenn was born in New Haven, CT at Grace New Haven hospital to a Malaysian father and an American mother. At the age of 16 months old, his father accepted a job in Calcutta, India where the family lived for 6 ½ years. Next, it was off to Singapore where the Wenn’s stayed for 24 years before finally moving to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Recently, his parents retired and are now living in Dade City, Florida where his Dad plays golf almost every day keeping a 12 handicap at age 78.
In India, Cliff and his family traveled all over the country, visiting most of India’s major cities and attractions. Most memorable for Cliff was going on an elephant back safari experience in Assam. They also traveled throughout Southeast Asia and many countries in Europe. He attended first grade at the Calcutta American School and then started second grade in Singapore, where Cliff attended the Singapore American School, graduating in 1982.
Leaving Singapore, it was off to the USA and Tufts University in Medford, MA where Cliff majored in economics and also saw snow for the first time. He later went on to obtain a Masters in Sports Management with a specialization in club facitlies and operations management from Northeastern.
Some of Cliff’s favorite pastimes include badminton, golf, traveling, soccer, tennis, backgammon, billiards, fishing, music, camping, and cooking. Cliff is fluent in Spanish, conversational in Hungarian, and has a working knowledge of Portuguese, and Malay.
