Cliff Wenn has over 25 years experience teaching and playing squash.
He is certified at the highest level by the PSA, a member of the Wilson Squash Advisory Staff, Master Pro, and is a USSRA National Verifier. Cliff holds a B.A. in Economics from Tufts University and an M.S. in Sports Management from Northeastern University.
Cliff brings his experience gained from the world famous Malaysian National Junior training system. This program has produced World Junior Champion's Ong Beng Hee, Azlan Iskandar, and twice World Champion, Nicol David (current world #1). In addition, he spent 11 years training in Singapore at the nation's top squash clubs, where he spent his formative years. For 5 years he was also the training/sparring partner for former Malaysian national champion (former world #12 U-19), Razlan Hashim. Racquet sports run in his family, his Uncle, Dr. Desmond Oon, played Davis Cup tennis for Malaysia, was the Singapore National Tennis Coach, while his Father was a school badminton and table tennis champion.
Over the past 15 years in the US, Cliff has been the Head Pro at several Boston area clubs, and was a Head College Squash Coach for 10 years, where he coached at both Tufts University and at Wellesley College.
Cliff is the Director of Squash at The Maugus Club (www.maugus.com) in Wellesley, MA where he has coached for a combined 11 years. During the past year (2007/2008 squash season), Cliff left Maugus to co-found Cross Courts Squash & Fitness Center in Natick, MA with developer/businessman, Warren Cross, Jr. and has now returned to the Maugus Club. Cliff is the owner and founder of Winning Sports, Inc., which is based in Framingham, MA. The company specializes in the sports of squash, tennis, racquetball and badminton and is an authorized dealer for most of the major brands .Winning Sports, Inc. has served as the badminton vendor/stringer at numerous badminton tournaments in the Northeast, most notably as the official vendor/stringer for the prestigious Boston Open tournament.
